Lindsey Topham is a photographer and documentary filmmaker living in Western Massachusetts.  She has a Bachelor's degree in Film and Digital Media from the University of California in Santa Cruz, and a Master's degree in Photojournalism from Boston University.  She has over 7 years of professional photography and video experience. In 2009, Lindsey discovered a small running club, The Trail Animals Running Club, that met for weekly runs at the Blue Hills just outside of Boston. Since then, she's spent many weekends documenting the lives and culture of this community that has grown to over 2500 members.  She is currently working on a documentary film about this group.  The film is called "The Trails are Free" and it looks at how the group protects the culture of ultra running through grassroots trail races in New England. This project is self funded, shot, directed, and edited. It's a labor of love, and it's almost done! The full story will be available in 2016. For now, follow some of the film on Instagram. Lindsey also provides multimedia and commercial photography services to Yarn.com.  Since 2011, she has built an extensive library of over 300 videos for the largest online yarn retailer in the world.  She has also learned to knit a little herself, though she finds it hard to find time to actually finish anything! She loves to shoot weddings, bar mitzvahs, portrait sessions and any other variety of event large or small. Her work is heavily influenced by her background in photojournalism.  In her spare time, Lindsey is an avid runner and hiker.  She comes from a large Portuguese family that talks too loud and cooks too much.   (photo by Emma Welford, knitwear designer and Lindsey's partner in crime at YARN.com)
