The Gomes Family - Golden hour family photos at Silver Bell Farm

I feel so lucky to have kicked off my sunset mini sessions at Silver Bell Farm with this super sweet family! If you saw my last blog preview, you’ll know that these sessions started with some heavy rain. The Gomes family was actually standing out in the field with me when the rain started coming down. We all ran into the event space at the farm until the storm passed, and thankfully it did! I am so grateful that we had such beautiful light after the rain!

Marco and Leigh-Ann just had their second baby girl in September and were super excited to celebrate their new family with some photos.

They were such good sports and even in the rain I didn’t hear their littlest make a peep!

Biggest thanks to the Gomes family for being such troopers with the weather! I had so much fun photographing your little family!

Golden hour family photos at Silver Bell Farm

You can’t tell in these photos but just moments before Andrea and Todd showed up with their kiddos for photos at Silver Bell Farm in Monson, the sky was black and it was raining sideways. That’s New England for you!

Luckily, as soon as they pulled into the parking lot, the sky lit up and filled the space with the most gorgeous golden light.

Silver Bell is a really beautiful local farm that was super nice to offer up their space for my sunset sessions this week. Today’s families enjoyed all of the different settings to explore for photos, even with the stormy weather!

Stay tuned for more previews as the week goes on!

Extended Family Session at Quabbin Reservoir

Last year Melissa and Matt surprised their extended family with a gift certificate for a 2018 photo session with me. More and more, I think people are choosing to spend money on experiences rather than things, and this is the perfect way to do that. This crew recently grew by two super cute kiddos so having some photos taken was even more pressing!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing their crew at the Quabbin Reservoir. This location has got to be one of my favorites for photos, especially in the fall!

Here is a round up of some of my favorites.

Thank you for choosing me to capture these wonderful moments!

Why I love at home family photo sessions

I love how relaxed at home family sessions can be. Jackie and Andrew had the perfect setting to have me over for some photos of their party of five last month!

When you have a big crew like this, especially one that includes babies, I am always happy to work right at your home! These kids were so relaxed and excited to show me all of their favorite parts of their space. They were free to be themselves and I was able to catch all of the magic!

Here are a few of my favorites.

Silly, Messy Love - Northfield, MA Family Session

If you have kids of your own, you know that having a family is hard work. Of course family love is unconditional and has no end, but let’s be real, sometimes this kind of love can feel messy and exhausting. You catch yourself doing odd things to keep your children from losing focus or melting down, and the best you can do is embrace it.

My background is in photojournalism, so when I get to work with a family that just wants to be a family while I hang out with my camera, I get pretty excited. The Crowley family wanted just that for their family session at their home in Northfield, Massachusetts, and I was more than happy to capture all of the silly, messy love they have for each other.

It was a HOT summer day and after getting a few photos in the sunny field across the street from their home, they just had to jump in the pool.

And no, they did not change out of their nice family picture clothes!

To the Crowley family — thank you for sharing all of these wild family moments with me. It was such a treat to capture a slice of your adventure.

Endress Family Photos

I've known Amy and Greg for the last 4 years. Amy is an incredible artist and photographer and Greg is a scientist. What a combination! They met in college and have built the coolest little family.

They have four very busy kiddos. Their oldest lives in Germany, two of them are competitive swimmers, and one of them is teaching art in Vermont. As soon as Amy knew that everyone would be home together she asked if I could meet them for a photo session at the Quabbin.

I photographed this family 4 years ago and it was so fun seeing the kids all grown up! It was also extra special to have Amy's dad in town for these!
