I am a photographer and documentary filmmaker living in Western Massachusetts. I studied Film and Digital Media at the University of California in Santa Cruz, and later earned a Master's degree in Photojournalism from Boston University. I have worked in both news and commercial settings, first as a multimedia journalist for a short while at the Berkshire Eagle in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and then as the Multimedia Manager for YARN.com in Northampton, Massachusetts for 7 years. I have over 10 years of professional photography and video experience and I currently offer freelance photography, video and content creation services for businesses that would like to expand their online presence.
In 2016, I completed my first full length documentary film called "The Trails Are Free". The film follows the growth of ultra running and trail running in the greater Boston area through The Trail Animals Running Club. The project was self funded, shot, directed and edited in the wee hours of the night while my children were sleeping. It premiered in February 2017 at the Capitol Theater in Arlington, Massachusetts and has since been screened in New Zealand and South Africa.
My work is heavily influenced by my background in photojournalism and documentary film work. Ten years ago I photographed my first wedding, and while it was never my heart’s intention to do this kind of work full time, I kept getting inquiries and actually started to really like photographing weddings! In 2018 I was able to leave my full time job and pursue my side hustle with wedding photography and freelance commercial work.
In my spare time, I like to run and hike. I've got two kiddos, and my husband is in a pretty cool band.
