Extended Family Photos in the Berkshires

I met Yona and her extended family last year at the height of the pandemic. They had all retreated from the city to their family stay in the Berkshires to collectively work from home and wait out the worst of the virus.

This year, the kids were one year older and one year more determined. It’s always a different scene at a family photo session when the kids have learned to walk and explore on their own. I always say, embrace it. This is the best age for candids and so what if those posed, perfect photos feel a bit more wiggly. You’ll want to remember how strong willed your children were at this age.

We met at Kinderhook Farm, a working livestock farm in the Hudson Valley. Yona and her family were staying at the farm stay for this visit. It was a beautiful summer morning with bright blue skies. We walked the farm together and the kids showed me all of their favorite animals and tractors.

I always think of landscapes like the one at Kinderhook as only existing up north in Vermont and New Hampshire but NY really does have so much to offer. It was so nice to be able to visit this beautiful place and enjoy a slice of rural peace with this family.

Big thanks to Yona and the family for sharing this morning with me, and thank you to Kinderhook farm for allowing us to take these photos on your truly magical property.
