Lindsey and Michael’s Engagement Session at Edgewood Park in New Haven, Connecticut
Lindsey and Michael are both Yale grads who have temporarily called New Haven home these last few years while Lindsey finishes up her PhD in Economics. Everything about these two is so beyond sweet. It’s hard to pick what to share, so I’ll leave you with these sentiments they shared about each other ahead of our session.
“Literally everything becomes more fun if I can do it with Michael! He is brilliant, funny, sensitive, and kind. I love that he always wants to discuss big ideas and new facts that he comes across in his voracious reading. I love that in restaurants we always sit on the same side of the table (even if we are dining just the two of us) "Parisian cafe"-style so that we can talk quietly. I love how he can talk to anyone, including people with totally different life experiences, and find common ground on which to relate. I never really imagined getting married, but by the end of our first date, it was like ‘yep -- this is my guy’.” -Lindsey
“Lindsey takes the small parts of life seriously. Daily rituals like morning tea or brushing before bed aren't to be mindlessly rushed through. She takes the concerns of animals and children seriously, and says "sorry" when she bumps into lamps. She clearly loves and prioritizes her family, and that's a wonderful trait. She knows more math than me. She might be the best economics TA that Yale has had in a decade. In a department dominated by men, she maintains a stylish femininity that the profession benefits from aesthetically and intellectually. She works hard, and approaches problems with a plan. She runs faster and farther than me, and is an athlete with a well-earned toned body that kills in a swimsuit. I eat healthier food and sleep more when I'm with her, and she's an overall good influence on me. She loves me!! And so clearly has my best intentions at heart that I trust her as an advisor in every aspect of my life.” -Michael
