Engagement Photos in Hudson, New York | Cam & Taylor at Kitty’s Diner

When Cam and Taylor suggested taking their engagement photos in Hudson, New York, I was instantly curious. I’d actually never been to Hudson before, so I was excited to explore a new spot with them.

They told me about their tradition of visiting Kitty’s, a retro little café right in town, and it just made perfect sense to make this the focal point of their session. Engagement photos always feel more personal when the location ties into your real life.

Before grabbing coffee at Kitty’s, we wandered around Hudson for portraits. Our early morning start meant quiet streets and empty storefronts. We had all of the colorful buildings and historic brick to ourselves.

This session was a sweet reminder of something I’ve been talking a lot about with couples lately: you don’t have to perform or put on a show for your wedding day, or even for portraits. You don’t need to act a certain way to be interesting or photogenic. You already are. Your connection is real, special, and completely worthy of being captured.

Choosing places that reflect who you are as a couple, like Kitty’s for Cam and Taylor, is a big part of that. The locations you love naturally tell your story.

If you’re planning your own engagement session, think about the spots that already feel like “yours.” Whether it’s a favorite café, a park you walk through together, or a charming town you love to explore, trusting these places will make your photos feel effortless and uniquely yours.
