Mike and Brianna’s North Shore Wedding at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Rain on your wedding day may sound like a plan gone awry, but when it comes to capturing candid moments as a wedding photographer, the rain can be a magical ally. This summer I documented an unforgettable candid wedding day, drenched in raindrops, at the iconic Crane Estate in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

The Crane Estate, with its captivating gothic architecture and lush gardens, provided the perfect dose of surrealism even in the most challenging weather conditions. Enchanted, dreamlike, and transcendent, this wedding felt like Fellini, Buñuel, Deren, and Lynch all smooshed together into a delicious surrealist soup.

It was such a joy to work with these two at the beautiful Crane Estate, and even a bigger gift to get to know them over the course of the last two years. Congrats Mike and Bri and thank you for letting me step into your world on such a beautiful day.
